Cards from our bleaching technique class

This is such a great technique, as long as you wear old clothes and keep the bleach away from anything that you don't want it to come in contact with.

These cards are all very different and I hope you like them enough to try for yourself.

This one is so easy, the only thing I must reinforce is, please make sure you pop your stamp in water as soon as you have finished stamping with it.

Bleaching technique card class

I folded a piece of Chux cleaning cloth to use as the stamp pad. I added about a cap full of bleach over this pad. (don't put too much bleach, as it will be far too wet)
Tap the stamp on to this pad and then onto your card. (I used Crumb Cake card). You will see it gradually appear. I then sponged bleach around the edge with a piece of sponge.
I embossed a strip of our lovely Copper foil with the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The base card was also Crumb Cake.

The next card is my Arty Farty one. I do love creating a background with Write Markers and spritzing, it is so effective on creating something very unique.

To create this background I scribbled randomly on to an acrylic block with 3 different colour Write Markers. I then spritzed the block with some water to blend the colours. We let this card dry and then embossed the image with Silver Embossing powder. We then painted bleach into the flowers and leaves to pull out all the bleach. Some of the ladies used a paint brush dipping it in a little pot of bleach. Others used our Aqua Painters that had been filled with bleach.

Each card looked different depending on what the background looked like. The base card got matched up to the dominant background colour.

Then this lovely soft card I just love and I know exactly who is going to receive this card already.

The base card was Pool Party and as I had some retired Pool Party embossing powder I decided to use it to emboss the image. (If you don't have any of this powder, you can stamp your image with Versamark and then with Pool Party ink and then emboss with Clear embossing powder.)

Once the image had been embossed, the petals and the leaves were again painted with bleach. A simple  double layered banner with some twine finished this simple card off.

So what do you think of these gorgeous cards. Is bleaching something you would try? I do hope you will give it a go and I would love to hear how they turn out.
